Has anyone established whether the people of Kkarrt or another MK kingdom built pyramids? If so, where would they be? Are they still standing?
And would they be the smooth-side ones like in Egypt or more ziggurat-like stepped ones like in Central America?
Well I created the Kkarrt and based them on the ancient Egyptian. So I can see them having built smooth sided pyramids too. Some must survive into the present time (CR707). Probably in various states of ruin/repair. Also seeing as there is magic in this world some could still be in VERY good shape. Probably concidered by the locals with a mixture of awe, fear, superstition and pride. And also the object of tourism!
Any idea where they would be located on the map? I'm thinking that the Sondesharan Desert has the best climate for them, but I don't know if Kkarrt ever ruled that part of the world.
Also, while we're on the subject, how the HELL do you pronounce "Kkarrt"? This could be important for my podcast someday. :)
Also keep in mind that after so many centuries, the climate and flora (and fauna but that's beside the point) may have changed drastically. While in varying possible states of ruin or preservation, they might be buried and resemble hills, though maybe too regularly shaped for a natural hill.
OK! first off - How do you pronounce Kkarrt? K-Kart.
Also I do have a location for Kkarrt being roughly in the area where the border between the Sathmore Empire and the Pyralian Kingdoms. There is a river that runs from the Sathmore mountain range to the ocean. The one major city on that map is Silvassa. That river is the MK version of the Nile. the Kkarrt empire spread out on both sides of the river for a good distance. There are bound to be at few pyramids along the river. Especially at Silvassa which was once the capital of Kkarrt.

Uh, I already wrote descriptions of Silvassa in LToY, and they certainly didn't have pyramids there! If there are any there, they'd be very small. It's possible that if there are any pyramids in this area, the people living there now considered them cursed and keep their distance from them.
Dominus tecum
Oooo… Cursed pyramids? Now that sounds like a must have; we could have a mummy dungeon! ;)
And go dungeon crawling too! Don't forget the obligatory BBEG at the bottom/end of the dungeon with treasure chests everywhere!
I'm with Matt on this one…. completely confused about this news of something that huge near Silvassa.
Pyramids on the scale of Giza would be darn hard to miss, even if they were cursed territory.
hard to miss, but maybe mistaken for something else, like if covered by dirt and plants, they could think it's just a hill.
Ok. I think there are pyramids left over from the kkarrt but none in Silvassa with the exception of one long ago pulled down and now completely gone. Others do exist but only small ones long overgrown or fogotten. Pyramids came in many sizes. Of course there can STILL be plenty of cool, egyptian type tombs scattered about with all sorts of nasty things in them waiting for someone to try and sneak in.
