Hey, I'm billy, and I think I've already broken protocol by posting first and introducing myself second but only just found out this was here.

Anyway, I've been working my way through the online TF archives for a few years now and I have to admit I skipped over Metamor because it was fantasy. Then, while browsing I came across a bunch of stories about a certain fox fire mage (fire mage fox?) (fire fox mage?) and once I'd read all those I started reading some other authors. So far I'm halfway through Chris O'Kane's archive and have been firmly bitten by the Metamor bug.

Now I've got two more characters yammering inside my head and an epic story line condensing, so I hope you guys are happy, I spent an afternoon reading about making swords because of this place ;)

Boo.
I've sorta been lurking around since August last year (you can thank Virmir, I was looking at his stuff and followed the link), and I became quite intrigued with this little project you've got going on; mostly agape that something like this has been able to keep going for over ten years. That, and a really engrossing storyline.

I've actually been working on a first story off and on since last August since I became aware of this place, mostly being kept from finishing by long hiatuses and by the fact that it's been getting progressively longer and longer the more I get into it. Anywhere else I'd call the thing a tome, but this place has Charles, so I will refrain. I've been putting off announcing myself until the thing is nearly completed, so hopefully it should be done in a week or so.

Sooooo, that's the introduction. Thing.

Hello there, Metamor Writers, my name is Kiba and my current goal is to be among your ranks. I'm not entirely sure what to say about myself, but I feel it would be a good idea to make myself known before I start sending my stories to the mailing list… (oops. Shoulda done this earlier D: )

This would be my first time writing seriously for any reason, and so far it's going great. I impressed most of my friends with my progress so far, which surprised me because I didn't think I was good at writing. Turns out I'm better than I thought… not that I'm bragging, I mean I still have a lot of room for improvement.

I hope you all enjoy my stories at least as half as well as I enjoyed writing them. I've posted the first parts on my FA page, here, so you can read them in case they don't make it here.

Anyway… enjoy! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me them. ^^

Hi guys, better late than never. My first contact with MK was Fox Cutter's visit from his A Fox In The Works series (and realize it's likely not canon to the rest of MK). I finally got around to reading the regular MK stories (about half way through now)

Thanks Misha for the site invite. I didn't see anything anywhere saying that I had to join the MK site in order to post in the forum, I thought just registering on wikidot was enough like every other forum (not on wikidot) I visit on a regular basis.

Well, I figured I might as well introduce myself and, well. there was a place to do it. Here I am, whee… heh..
I'm Fenrs and I've been working on a few stories taking place in MK, but when I first saw this is kind of blew me away, hundreds of stories by different people all with the same basic setting. By the time I finish reading it all there will be even more to read! Nothing wrong with that, though. I like the stories and the people in them, and how it all meshes together into one gigantic stream of tales.. and, often, tails.

Hi,
Newbie here. My friend showed me this sight a couple of months ago and I've been reading and writing on and off since then. The reading is a little overwhelming at times (I'm about halfway through Winter Assault at the moment) as is the writing, but I think I'm at the point where I have something to share.
Is there any secret ritual or do I just send my story off to the listserv and see what folks think?
All the best,
Nagolinc
(Metamor Charcter: Oonsus Koguja)

A certain leonine author from 2004 returns from the dark of writer's block and other adventures

Well I'm not exactly new to the list but somewhat renewed to it you might say. I believe my first venture into the MK universe was sometime in 2002 but my last story was back in late 2004. I haven't been hiding exactly as Matt and a couple others can verify (I hope ) but RL, writer's block and a deployment have limited my ability to contribute. I've been reading as best I could and now am back into writing again as my Muse has decided to open the flood gates on me. Oh, this was to be an intro, not an excuse wasn't it?

Alright then. You won't find my name, Kamau, in MK or at least not yet. The characters you will find are Pierga - a jaguar; Lewis – currently still human but soon to be a lynx; Sal – a Smilodon commonly called saber tooth tiger, and soon to appear Rorlyn – a gryphon (not to be confused with gryfin like Quickpaw or Kiska). Now some who know me from other lists and groups will probably go "What? No Lion?" as that's usually my character and it is me. Someday a lion will appear but for now I haven't got the right feel for putting 'me' in MK.

So what do I have to offer the group? For one I will as time allows read and comment on stories. RL is a real rollercoaster at the moment so no promises of how much commenting I'll be doing but I /will/ read the stories. I'm not going to turn this into a brag sheet however so simply put I know a good bit about medieval culture, often do actual designs on buildings and equipment for my stories, am very familiar with Catholic and some other faiths and am approaching 3 score years.

With any luck I'll get one, possibly two, stories up on the list within a month. I've five others in various states of completion that will be coming out after that. I'll also be jumping on the #MKGuild chat every so often to ask/answer questions.

That's more then enough for now so I'll shut my muzzle and see who I get pounced by.

I've been going through the Beginner's list. Rites of Ascendancy and Liturgy of Blood are definitely my faves so far.

Many thanks, my well-met friends!
Wow. It's been a while.

One minute everything was there, and the next, I was swept up in life. I seem to recall going back to TSA and finding it rather blank—and wondering what had happened. Having changed e-mails, geographic locations, etc. I kind of wondered what had happened, but life was moving forward, and personal time on the Internet was short.

But wow! My wife pointed this out to me a few weeks ago, just before Tigner hit me up with an e-mail. I guess it is time to get writing again. :) Of course, I need to make it through the archives… I'm working my way up from Winter Assault to make sure I'm current. Lots of good stuff so far.

I have some old information—names, dates, etc. that I had been cataloging some time ago. I don't have any of my old e-mails from before, but if any of my stuff can help, let me know.

-Tatsushu
Currently residing in Bangkok: [http://geeksinasia.blogspot.com]

Hello. The last time I posted to Metamor I was going under the name "Fox Dragonrite". I did a small series of non-canon spoofs featureing Jesreg and John Thesmere. I had thought the universe dead. Fortunately I ran into Matthias at Anthrocon and found it was not! Yea!

I vowed I would write more. This is where I'm starting. Jesreg and John live once more! (well kinda, sorta, not really). And I'm going to make them canon this time with some backstory and plot hooks! Don't worry though. John Thesmere will still be zany and all of my characters will be "loveably insane".

I look forward to writing with everyone.

Well, the first thing I guess is that I prefer to be referred to as Kit, the 'last name' really is just there because apparently Kit was already taken and Sune did seem like a good fit to finish a word.

Other than that, I've always loved to read stories of all kinds, and I almost always create my own stories with characters of my own that take place in that universe. When my library ran out of interesting books, I turned to the internet and started reading numerous webcomics and various story sites. I recently found a site tsa.transform.to and fell in love with many of the stories written there. I particularly liked the Blind Pig and Winds of Change universes. When the archives suddenly stopped I was very sad.

Eventually, about a week or two ago, I got redirected to MK by a xephernet link at the bottom of one of the webcomics I frequent, and I found myself enjoying the stories a lot. I particularly liked the idea that I could add stories of my own and that since it was still updating I wouldn't be attempting to revive something that had died (which I have tried to do and believe me, it's nearly impossible). I also quickly noticed the presence of many old transform.to'ers which was just another bonus.

This will be the first time I'm putting the ideas I create on the internet, so I hope I don't screw up too badly. If it goes well, I may put up some other things, including one story I think would work well as an illustrated comic, but I don't have the art skill to draw it yet. So in short, I'll be hanging around a while while finishing reading what's already up before I start any of my own ideas going. Hope to see you around and I look forward to reading the various things you write. ^_^

Hi all,
I discovered the metamor universe several years ago before the events of winter assault. I recall reading the archives zealously for several weeks at the time. At one point I feared I had become addicted to it and went cold turkey in the middle of Lineaments of coming night as it was being posted on the old mailing list.(Leading to a backlog of 493 unread mails ~hangs head~)
Recently I've found the courage these wonderful tales again though still with trepidation and as I now also aspire to be a competent writer I would like to add to the universe.
This idea makes me feel like an eager child surrounded by fine china. I want to touch everything but I'm mortally afraid of breaking anything. Also I worry that when I play with the little figurines I end up putting them back wrong or break something of that can't be glued back on.
I still want to try though in the hopes of finding the courage to show my work.
What little writing I have done I posted on my deviant art page here which unfortunately are written in my native tongue: Dutch. (Proper English translation pending on discipline infusion. It's so hard to write at home when there are enemy or alien civilizations to crush or if I'm not tempted to return to Azeroth and Outland )
My only English writing of note so far is in my webcomic DeMach Featuring an anthropomorphic lion.
Well this just about sums up everything I can think off.

Greetings from the Netherlands,

Leo M. Panther

I'm still learning to write (so little time, so much to learn!) and have only made a few dollars from this highly silly hobby. Matthias has been trying to get me to write MK for years, and Raven and I had some talks for MK2k a few years ago, but the character I was playing around with never dumped any plots on me.

I didn't come with the intent of causing chaos, I really just wanted an idea of what Euper was like so that I could describe it accurately… Really…

Sorry!

Greetings :o)

I've read a few Metamor stories here and there during my times on the Furry-lit and TSA mailing lists years back, then went looking for an archive this summer when a friend asked about fantasy/sci-fi stories online, and I ended up here. It's great to see a site with so much info about MK. I've been trying to catch up on my reading, and go back for some old favorites, but I'm still far behind on everything. School started, so I kinda drifted away, then I ended up in the hospital and stuck at home for a couple weeks. Bad circumstances, but a great chance to read some more! ;o)

Anyway, I wanted to get to know the people behind it all, learn some more about the universe, and eventually contribute some of my own stuff. I was a writer and editor back in high school, but have been somewhat inactive in the decade since. Getting back into these stories has inspired me to start writing again. I'll be posting a proposal soon (since there's so much I don't know), but I think I'll mostly stick outside the main events / characters for now to be safe.

On a personal note, me, my wife, and that thing growing in her belly live in Utah, and I'm pursuing a biochemistry degree with hopes to go on to pharmacy school. A fantasy-world like MK keeps me sane after all the cold scientific crap I get from school!

I look forward to getting to know all of ya!

Shaz
