						 <p>Two questions, well, two and a half.</p> <p>One, where's the plot up to time wise? I'm trying to figure out where The Charlatan and any works leading off that might fit but I'm only up to the Winter Assault in the archives so I know it's post that, but are any other dates I should avoid preceding?</p> <p>Two, what is the insignia for a sergeant in Metamor's standing army. There's lots of detail on everyone else, but what about the rank and file? And in that vein is there a sergeant going free, I could use one to train one of my characters.</p>

						 <p>For new visitors to the Metamor valley that haven't heard (correctly) about the curse, are any of the roads into the valley marked with warning signs stating that to stay "past this point" more than 10-14 days is to invite and accept being cursed to one of the three forms?</p> <p>Sure, many people outside of Metamor may be illiterate, but perhaps some pictorial could accompany any text warning.</p> <p>Once someone determines (I assume years down the line) that the curse border is expanding, such signs should be moved periodically.</p>

						 <p>During Winter Assault, Laracin was dug up and brought into the keep to protect him from being chopped down by lutins for a battering ram (or whatever other use). As of (the middle of) LToY, I haven't seen anything written concerning whether he survived the transplanting back in the garden or how he's recovering from the cut roots. There have only been a couple slight mentions (remembering previous encounters) of him in the intervening time.</p>

						 <p>In (101 chronological) <strong>Eye of the Storm</strong>, when Saroth and Scratch came together with Sean in the mix, Scratch was changed into a dragon. But in (169) <strong>Roses and Thorns</strong> he was a tiger again. How and when did this happen? Is there an appearance between these that isn't listed at <a href="http://metamorkeep.com/resources/appearances/#scratch">Character Appearances</a>? Was a story written between these that didn't make it into the archives to explain it?</p> <p>Did he survive Winter Assault (or his next confrontation with Saroth)? Did he leave the keep?<br /> As I ask these questions, I'm only up to (330) <strong>Never Again a Man</strong>, so if more has happened between that and 460, just indicate that it's coming up.</p>

						 <p>Back in the story "Saturday", it appears after Wicker "Wicked" Potter somehow tricked Roscoe into killing his father, they both left the dungeons. The way I see it, Wicked escaped and Roscoe allowed it and went with him. Later in "Wagging Tongues Will" (part 7), Roscoe is mentioned still as being the head jailer.</p> <p>Did nobody notice (or question) Henrik's death and Wicker's disappearance? Wasn't Roscoe missed when he left (leaving, why did he apparently return)? If he didn't return, who's the new head jailer?</p> <p>In case somebody wants to use Roscoe again (or even if not), I think something needs to be cleaned up or explained on these events. Was it just a dream? Was it real and did Roscoe go through his own trial and punishment?</p> <p>If the end is changed, perhaps a link to the new ending can be added at the insert point, or maybe link to the original instead, while flowing the new in.</p>

						 <p>I am about to start posting a story that has Saroth as a minor but important character in it. I tried to contact the creator/owner, Terry Spafford, but the mail bounced. 						 <p>In working on a story that involves Quickpaw and Kiska (both creatures of the Ethereal) the topic of Ethereal magic has come up in discussions. No one on the chat group has been able to point me to anything on that and a search of both the Metamor site and Internet has given me nothing more then a foggy concept in D&amp;D. Does anyone have any solid insight into what this is in MK?</p> <p>Some of what I did find in my searching makes me think it would be an interesting counterpoint to some of the other magic shown in LToY recently and maybe open the door for some new and different magic or at least different users/sources.</p>

New author here, scared slightly spitless by the prospect of trying to fit into an awesomely developed world…*scans canon for easily broken vases and other aspects of continuity…*</p> <p>I'm getting ready to write my first intro, and I had a few questions for ye who doth know what thou art doing…eth.</p> <p>1) How feasible would it be for a small family to survive tucked away in the mountains near the Giant's Dike? I'd rather like my characters (three brothers) to be well-accustomed to surviving in the area and staving off lutins, but I'd also prefer they not take shelter in Metamor during troop movements. Rites of Ascendancy mentions that some inhabitants of the area do not take refuge in the Keep…might such people manage to not die in a hard-to-reach mountain niche in the North?</p> <p>2) Rites of Ascendancy also mentions a Supreme Creator beyond the Aedra. Is this entity off-limits? Would it be possible for a new character to contact some unnamed entity, and to later come to believe the entity with whom he'd spoken was the Creator? (I'd rather like this interaction to continue, as well…)</p> <p>3) I keep hearing about the Winter Assault, and it sounds like tons of fun. 						 <p>I working on a second story but have hit a block. What kind of entertainment exists in the taverns other than darts and pool. A I'm pretty sure the only pool table is in the Mule and it isn't slanted.<br /> We've seen cards in the hands of a select few but are they wide spread. In the high middle ages cards were pretty rare.<br /> Dice were more common but I ran into the question what games would be/are played at Metamor. Cheating with dice would be a viable option for someone with fast enough hands or with the right props.<br /> If a game isn't already referenced I'll do some research.</p>

						 <p>I'm just wondering but does a dragon's human disguise have to necessarily reflect their gender and their age if they were a human. IE: Female adolescent dragon's disguise is a female and their disguise's age is about 13-18 in human years.</p> <p>And can the human disguise be affected by Metamor's Curse?</p> <p>Another one: If the above is true than what happens if the dragon's disguise is affected by the animal curse as a dragon? If this happens what would the dragon do? Does the dragon-morph have the same scales etc. as their "true" form? And would anyone think the now dragon-morph that the only reason that they can claim to be a dragon is because they happen to roll a twenty on the animal curse? :p</p>

						 <p>I was wondering how vampirism works in Metamor. Is it like a disease (if you get it you've got it, and thats it), or is it more like a genetic mutation, could someone have a vampire in their ancestry and have inherited some of the traits of vampirism but not be a full blown vampire?<br /> For example, having a greater sensitivity to light i.e. getting sunburned a lot easier than normal but standing out in the sun won't kill them, slightly increased speed, strength, and healing, and the ability to feed but not the need to.</p>

It's always been "The Town of Metamor" or "Metamor Town", but lately I've seen "Keeptowne" crop up in a few places (a recent chapter of LTOY, a few spots in the wiki). When this this new name come up? Did I miss an IRC discussion? :)</p> <p>I do agree that giving it a proper name would help distinguish the town from the Keep itself. But having just put up story number 377, I think it's a tad late for that. ;)</p>
