Lord Brian Avery has been the liege of the Glen since the Battle of Three Gates when his father and older brother were killed in battle. He was engaged to Angela at the time, and it was luck that they both became grey squirrels. Few nobles can claim to be on a first name basis with their subjects. Brian Avery is one such noble, a fact that he prides himself on. He is not above spending a night drinking with the common labourers in the brewery, a habit his wife has unsuccessfully tried to make him break.
